Finding the Right Department
Most of what residents need from the town runs through a department, not an elected official: paying a bill, pulling a permit, reporting a problem, registering to vote. Almost every head below was appointed by the Town Manager under charter section 7-12, which is why their names are not on a ballot and why the Town Manager is the person the Select Board holds responsible for all of them. Two are different on purpose. The Town Clerk is elected by the voters under charter section 3-4, and the Library Director is appointed by the elected Library Trustees under section 3-8.
The directory below covers the departments residents contact most, with the head the town names on its own department page. For the full list, hours, and staff, visit the town’s Departments page. Town Hall is at 500 Gliniewicz Way, open Monday to Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
