Abington Select Board
About the Board
The Select Board is elected town-wide, so every Abington voter helps choose all five, and charter section 3-2 gives each a three-year term on a staggered schedule that puts a seat or two on the ballot every spring. That same section says the executive powers of the town are vested in this board and names it the chief policy making agency. It appoints the Town Manager who runs the town day to day, it appoints Town Counsel, it appoints most of the town’s boards and committees, and it is the licensing board that decides who may run a business of certain kinds in Abington. The charter also draws a line the board may not cross: no member, and no majority of members, may get into the day to day administration of a department. When a daily problem becomes town policy, this is the room where it happens.

- Controls the warrant, deciding what business reaches Town Meeting for a vote.
Board Members
All five members are elected town-wide. After each annual town election the board reorganizes and chooses its own officers. At the reorganization of Monday, April 27, 2026, two days after the annual election, Town Clerk Leanne Adams swore in William Cormier, Daniel Eddy and Ken Coyle, and the board elected Paul Bunker as Chair.

Meetings & How to Participate
- When: as of September 2025 the board typically meets at 5:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Mondays of each month, at Town Hall, 500 Gliniewicz Way. The town posts each agenda in advance.
- Agendas & minutes: posted on the town’s own Select Board page at abingtonma.gov, with an archive of prior years.
- Watch: meetings are recorded and posted by Abington Community Access Media, which keeps an archive you can search after the fact.
- Public comment: residents may address the board. Check the agenda for the procedure.
- Town Meeting: for the budget and bylaws, the deciding vote belongs to the registered voters in the hall, which can include you.
