Springfield Demographics
A Portrait of Springfield
Springfield is one of the most diverse cities in New England, a majority-minority city where Hispanic and Latino residents are the largest group and where the schools, the nonprofits, and City Hall all reflect that mix. The median age is a young 33.7 years, and the poverty rate sits well above the state line, so the city carries real economic strain even as new investment arrives.

Registration for that election closed ten days earlier, on October 25, 2025.
