Jeffrey Marsden is Superintendent of the Medfield Public Schools, which is a single-town district: five schools, PreK through 12, run by and for Medfield alone. He proposes the school budget, sets academic priorities, and runs the system day to day, working with Director of Finance and Operations Michael LaFrancesca. The School Committee
In the district’s own words, the committee is comprised of five members who are elected by the voting residents of Medfield for three-year terms. It sets educational goals and policy, participates in the budget process and approves the annual school budget, hires and evaluates the Superintendent, forms subcommittees for contract negotiations with the teachers, custodians, cafeteria workers and secretaries, and provides for professional development. Two of the five seats were on the March 30, 2026 ballot, and Michael McCabe and Roseli Weiss won them.

Officers come from the committee’s own reorganization. At its meeting of April 9, 2026 it appointed Leo Brehm as Vice Chair and Michael McCabe as Recording Secretary, both by unanimous roll call.
