Rep. García is a Chelsea native and the first Honduran American to serve in the Massachusetts Legislature. She served four terms on the Chelsea City Council, was a leading COVID-19 relief organizer, and holds a B.A. in Urban Studies from Wheaton College. In 2026 she co-filed the PROTECT Act alongside City Manager Maltez.
