Williamstown, Massachusetts
Williamstown Community Organizations
Local history, open space, human services and a newsroom that carries your own town meetings. Every organization on this page takes volunteers, and several of them are how a resident with no title at all ends up in the room.
Community Organizations
| Organization | What they do & contact |
|---|---|
| Williamstown Community Chest | Raises money locally and grants it to the health and human service agencies that serve northern Berkshire residents, and it publishes a directory of food pantries and meal sites. |
| WilliNet | Williamstown’s community media station and local newsroom. It records and streams Select Board and Town Meeting sessions live and on demand, which is how a resident who cannot get to a meeting still sees what happened. |
| Williamstown Historical Museum | Collects and preserves the town’s manuscripts, photographs and artifacts, and tells the story of how West Hoosac became Williamstown. |
| Williamstown Rural Lands Foundation | Protects open space and farmland in and around Williamstown, keeps trails open at Sheep Hill and other preserves, and runs programs that take volunteers. |
| David and Joyce Milne Public Library | The town’s public library at 1095 Main Street, (413) 458-5369. Its Library Board of Trustees is one of the bodies Williamstown voters elect directly, so this is a board you can run for. |
