Who Represents Wayland

Six people speak for Wayland above the town line, and one of them depends on your address. Wayland is split between two Massachusetts House districts, so which state representative is yours is a question about which street you live on. One state senator carries the whole town, one member of Congress carries it in the U.S. House, and the Commonwealth’s two U.S. senators represent the entire state, Wayland included. Between them they cover everything from a state road repair to a federal grant for your school.

State Senator

A state senator votes the state budget, files bills, and sits on the joint committees where most bills live or die. All of Wayland sits inside the Middlesex and Worcester district, which means there is no district line to check before you write. Senator Eldridge sits on the Joint Committees on the Judiciary, on Election Laws, on Public Safety and Homeland Security, on Revenue, and on Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities, among others. His office is also the one carrying Wayland’s Millennium Fund article through the Legislature, the article Town Meeting approved in 2025.

State Representatives

Wayland is split. Part of the town sits in the 13th Middlesex House district and part in the 5th Middlesex, so the person who speaks for your street depends on where in town you live. If you are not sure which is yours, the lookup below settles it in about ten seconds, and it is worth doing before you write, because a letter to the wrong district is a letter to someone else’s representative.

A state representative files bills, votes the state budget, and can chase a state agency on a constituent’s behalf, which is often the fastest use of the office. Representative Gentile sits on the Joint Committees on Municipalities and Regional Government, on Higher Education, on Aging and Independence, and on State Administration and Regulatory Oversight. Representative Linsky sits on the Joint Committees on Transportation, on Revenue, on Public Safety and Homeland Security, and on Tourism, Arts and Cultural Development. Between the two of them, most questions a Wayland resident brings to Beacon Hill land in a committee one of them already sits on.

In Washington

All of Wayland sits in the Fifth Congressional District, one of nine in Massachusetts. Massachusetts is represented in the U.S. Senate by Elizabeth Warren, the senior senator, and Edward J. Markey, the junior senator, both Democrats, and both of them represent you as much as any Wayland voter.
