Finding the Right Department
Most of what residents need from the town runs through a department, not an elected official: paying a bill, pulling a permit, reporting a problem, registering to vote. Nearly every department head below was appointed by the Town Manager under section 3(A) of the 2022 Town Manager Act, which is why their names are not on a ballot, and why the Select Board holds one person responsible for all of them. There is a real exception, and it is the Town Clerk: that office is elected in Tyngsborough, and Annual Town Meeting calls it the town’s only full-time elected position.

Emergencies are 911. Tyngsborough publishes no single combined non-emergency line: police non-emergency is 978-649-7504 and the fire business line is 978-649-7671. A sewer emergency goes to 978-815-6293, and a water outage to the Tyngsborough Water District at 978-649-4577.
