North Attleborough Town Council

About the Council

The Town Council holds the political power. North Attleborough voters elect nine members, and unlike most councils, every seat is at-large: there are no wards or districts, so all nine councilors answer to the whole town. Every seat runs for a two-year term, so the entire Council faces the voters at once, as it did at the April 2025 town election, when several newcomers won seats. The Council is where a daily problem becomes town policy: a flooded street, a stalled development, the tax rate on your family’s home. It also makes the single most important hire in town government, the Town Manager who runs the place.

  • Sets policy and law by passing bylaws and resolutions.
  • Controls the budget by adopting or cutting what the Town Manager proposes.
  • Hires the Town Manager and holds the Manager accountable.

Council Members

All nine members are elected at-large by the whole town. The Council chooses one of its own as President to run its meetings and another as Vice President. The current roster was set at the April 2025 town election.

What this seat decides

Your Town or City Council

A local ordinance, the city or town budget, or a problem in your own ward or district. The real testimony happens at committee hearings rather than at the full council meeting.

Public hearings and meetings are where residents shape town decisions.
