Academic Performance & Context

Millbury’s four-year graduation rate was 93.8%. MCAS results, graduation rates, and accountability data are published and updated each year by DESE. Because these change annually, this guide links to the live state profile rather than reprinting numbers that quickly go stale.

One number here is a civics fact rather than an education one. Per-pupil spending is not set in this building or by the Superintendent. Under charter Article 6 the School Committee publishes a summary of its proposed budget in a local newspaper, holds a public hearing, votes the budget no sooner than its next regular meeting, and sends it to the Town Manager. Then Town Meeting votes it, in the same room, on the same night, by the same registered voters who vote everything else. And the town does put school buildings to the voters directly: on November 18, 2025 a special town election asked Millbury whether to fund a high school roof project.
