Boards & Commissions
What Boards & Commissions Are
Beyond the Council and School Committee, much of Methuen’s governing happens on volunteer boards and commissions, approving development, hearing zoning appeals, protecting the historic district, and advising on licensing, economic development, recreation, and more. They are where residents have the most direct hand in shaping the city.
Most members are appointed by the Mayor, many subject to City Council confirmation, and serve fixed terms. Meetings are public, and many boards have openings.
