Medway covers 11.535 square miles on the western edge of Norfolk County, about 1,137 people to the square mile, and the numbers describe a town that is younger, wealthier and more owner occupied than the Commonwealth as a whole. Nearly one resident in four is under 18. Almost nine homes in ten are lived in by their owners. The median household income is $174,357 and the poverty rate is 3.1 percent. Registered Voters
Massachusetts publishes voter registration counts by town through the Secretary of the Commonwealth. As in most of the state, Medway’s largest bloc by far is voters who choose no party at all, which is worth knowing before anyone tells you how this town votes. It also matters in practice: an unenrolled voter in Massachusetts can take either party’s ballot at a primary, so more than two thirds of Medway can choose which primary to vote in on the day.
