Finding the Right Department

Most of what residents need from the town runs through a department, not an elected official: paying a bill, pulling a permit, reporting a problem, registering to vote. Charlemont is a small town, so most of these offices share the Town Hall at 157 Main Street and one main number, and several jobs are handled through the region: public health and building inspection are delivered through the Franklin Regional Council of Governments, the town accounting is contracted to an outside firm, and the police non-emergency line reaches Shelburne Control.

The directory below covers the offices residents contact most. For the full list, hours, and staff, visit charlemont-ma.us. The Town Hall is at 157 Main Street, and the main number is 413-339-4335.
