Registered Voters
Massachusetts publishes voter-registration counts by town through the Secretary of the Commonwealth; the counts below are the state’s enrollment snapshot from February 1, 2025. As in most of the state, Charlemont’s largest bloc by far is voters who choose no party at all.
- Total registered: 954
- Unenrolled (no party): 642 (67.30%)
- Democrats: 223 (23.38%)
- Republicans: 74 (7.76%)
Those registrations turn into a small, decisive electorate. Charlemont’s June 2026 town election drew a 13.6 percent turnout: of 961 registered voters, 131 came to the polls. The only contested race, a seat on the Board of Assessors, went 85 votes to 21. In a town this size your vote is not a drop in an ocean, it is a countable, visible thing.
