Community Organizations
Charlemont is served by local organizations that run its library, its service club, and its summer concerts, alongside the regional groups and the newspaper that cover the hill towns of Franklin County. Several of them take volunteers.

Town & Regional Resources for Residents
- Council on Aging: the town’s Council on Aging runs outreach and programs for older Charlemont residents; contact it through the Town Offices at 413-339-4335.
- Regional public health & inspection: the Franklin Regional Council of Governments delivers Charlemont’s public health nursing, septic and food-safety oversight, and its building, wiring, and plumbing inspections.
- Getting around: the Franklin Regional Transit Authority runs the area’s buses, including a Charlemont route, and demand-response rides across the county.
