Who Pays for This, and Who Decides
A regional school budget is voted twice, once by each town. On May 11, 2026 Wilbraham’s Town Meeting took the district budget as part of Article 19, and the Superintendent presented it in person. A voter in the room put a hold on the school budget for further discussion before the vote, which is exactly what the hold procedure exists for. The Finance Committee had recommended the article 7 to 2, and it passed by majority. Town Meeting also voted $135,348 in capital projects at Minnechaug that year, and moved the roof replacement projects at Mile Tree and Stony Hill into separate motions because the Massachusetts School Building Authority may pay part of them.
Academic Performance & Context
The district’s four-year graduation rate was 95.9%. MCAS results, graduation rates, and accountability data are published and updated each year by DESE. Because these change annually, this guide links to the live state profile rather than reprinting numbers that quickly go stale.
