Whitman, Massachusetts

Community Organizations

Whitman shares more than a school district with Hanson. Its newspaper, its cable station and several of its clubs are two-town operations, and every one of them takes volunteers.

Local News & Community Organizations

Organization What they do & contact
Whitman-Hanson Express The local newspaper covering Whitman and Hanson, including Select Board, Town Meeting and School Committee coverage.
WHCA-TV Provides community access to media in the towns of Whitman and Hanson, and records and televises Select Board and School Committee meetings.
Friends of the Whitman Public Library A volunteer organization that supports the library through book sales, programs and events, funding children’s and adult programs, museum passes and materials beyond the town budget.
Whitman-Hanson Youth Soccer Youth soccer for children from both towns, run by volunteers. The club’s site is served without a secure connection, so it is listed here without a link.
Whitman Food Pantry Distributes food to Whitman residents who need it. The pantry has no website of its own; the town’s Council on Aging and the Town Clerk’s office can point residents to it.

Each linked organization above was checked on its own website in August 2026. An organization is listed without a link when no website of its own could be verified, because a wrong link is worse than none.
