Who Represents Westborough
Six people speak for Westborough above the town line, and one of them depends on your address. Westborough is split between two Massachusetts House districts, so before you write to a state representative you need to know which side of the line your street is on. Above that, one state senator carries the whole town, one member of Congress carries it in the U.S. House, and the Commonwealth’s two U.S. senators represent the entire state, Westborough included. Between them they cover everything from a state road repair to a federal grant for your school.
State Senator
Second Worcester District · Democrat
Michael O. Moore
State House: Room 109-B · (617) 722-1485
Email: michael.moore@masenate.gov
A state senator votes the state budget, files bills, and sits on the joint committees where most bills live or die. All of Westborough sits inside the Second Worcester district, which means there is no district line to check before you write to him.
State Representatives
Westborough is a split town. Two House districts run through it, so the representative who answers for your street depends on where in town you live. If you are not sure which one is yours, the lookup below settles it in about ten seconds, and it is worth doing before you write.
19th Worcester District · Democrat
Kate Donaghue
State House: Room 472 · (617) 722-2013
Email: kate.donaghue@mahouse.gov
11th Worcester District · Republican
Hannah Kane
State House: Room 167 · (617) 722-2810
Email: hannah.kane@mahouse.gov
A state representative files bills, votes the state budget, and can chase a state agency on a constituent’s behalf, which is often the fastest use of the office. The two who cover Westborough sit in different parties and on different committees, so the town’s questions reach both sides of the House. Donaghue sits on the Joint Committee on Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities and the Joint Committee on Mental Health, Substance Use and Recovery. Kane sits on the Joint Committee on Public Health and the Joint Committee on Health Care Financing.
In Washington
All of Westborough sits in the Second Congressional District, one of nine in Massachusetts. Massachusetts is represented in the U.S. Senate by Elizabeth Warren, the senior senator, and Edward J. Markey, the junior senator, both Democrats, and both of them represent you as much as any Westborough voter.
2nd Congressional District · Democrat
James P. McGovern
Washington: 370 Cannon House Office Building · 202-225-6101
