It is voted at Town Meeting, in the same room, on the same night, by the same registered voters who vote everything else. On May 4, 2026, that room adopted a total town budget of $102,547,537 for the 2027 fiscal year on a counted vote of 285 to 172, and the School Department’s share of it was about $42.2 million. The town also pays roughly $5.1 million in tuition assessments for students educated outside the district, which the Finance Committee put at slightly more than six percent of the whole tax levy.
