Town Government
Randolph Town Council
About the Council
The Town Council is the body that ended town meeting. Before 2010 any registered Randolph voter could walk into the annual meeting and help decide the budget. Voters traded that for a tighter system: nine elected councillors who carry the town’s rules and money all year long. Five are elected at large by the whole town and four represent the four districts, one each. Councillors serve two-year terms and run together, so a single rough year at the polls can turn over the entire board. This is where a daily problem becomes town policy: a flooded street, a stalled development, the tax rate on your family’s home.
- Sets policy and law by passing ordinances and resolutions.
- Controls the budget by adopting, cutting, or amending what the Town Manager proposes.
- Hires the Manager and evaluates the person who runs the town day to day.

The Council chooses one of its own as President to run its meetings and another as Vice President. The current President is Ryan Egan and the Vice President is Richard Brewer Jr., both elected at large.
