Thomas Geary

Thomas Geary is Superintendent of the Lynnfield Public Schools, which means he proposes the school budget, sets academic priorities, and runs five schools day to day from the central office on Salem Street. The Superintendent is hired by and reports to the elected School Committee, which evaluates him in public: the committee posts its approved composite evaluation of the Superintendent, and the operating protocols the two sides work under, on its own website where anyone can read them. The School Committee
The Lynnfield School Committee has five members elected town-wide to staggered three-year terms, with one seat on the ballot each April. The committee sets district policy, approves the school budget, and hires and evaluates the Superintendent who runs the schools day to day. Its meetings are public and its agendas, minutes and video are posted on the district site, which means a Lynnfield student who shows up can speak. In April 2026 the seat was contested, and Brian Patrick Lambert took it with 999 votes to 928.
