Leyden Select Board
About the Board
The Select Board is elected town-wide, so every Leyden voter helps choose all three, and each serves a three-year term on a staggered schedule that puts one seat on the ballot most springs. In a town this size the board is the closest thing Leyden has to a full-time executive: it sets town policy, signs the warrants that decide what Town Meeting gets to vote on, appoints residents to many town offices and boards, and appoints and supervises the Town Coordinator who manages the daily work. When a daily problem becomes town policy, this is the room where it happens.

- Controls the warrant, deciding what business reaches Town Meeting for a vote.
Board Members
All three members are elected town-wide. After each annual town election the board reorganizes and chooses its own officers. At its reorganization on June 8, 2026, the board voted to appoint Erica Jensen as Chair; Katherine DiMatteo and Jeffrey Baker each declined the chair and continue as members.

Meetings & How to Participate
- When: generally Mondays at the Leyden Town Office on West Leyden Road, alternating evening meetings open to public comment with morning working sessions. The town posts each agenda in advance.
- Agendas & minutes: posted in advance on the town website at townofleyden.com.
- Public comment: residents may address the board. Check the agenda for the procedure.
- Town Meeting: for the budget and bylaws, the deciding vote belongs to the registered voters in the hall, which can include you.
Public hearings and meetings are where residents shape town decisions.
