Brian K. Reagan
About 2,275 students start their day in this district, and one person answers for all of it. Brian K. Reagan leads Hudson Public Schools, proposing the school budget, setting academic priorities, and running five schools day to day. He is not new to the buildings: he was the principal of Hudson High School from 2011 to 2018, and he wrote in his first letter to families that he and his wife have called Hudson home for twenty-five years and raised two children in these schools. The Superintendent is hired by and reports to the elected School Committee, which evaluates him against goals it publishes and votes on. Note what this means for the money: the school budget is the one large piece of town spending the Town Manager does not build. It comes from the Superintendent to the School Committee, and then to the same Town Meeting that votes everything else.

The School Committee
The Hudson School Committee has seven members, and charter section 3-6 elects all seven town-wide to staggered three year terms so that at least two seats come up each year. Hudson is a single-town district, so all seven answer to Hudson voters and nobody else. The committee sets district policy, approves the school budget, and hires and evaluates the Superintendent. The district publishes one officer title, Chairperson, and Christopher Yates holds it. Two seats were on the May 11, 2026 ballot and Tara M. Sagor and Erica G. Ankstitus won them, with 1,424 and 1,370 votes.

Meetings & Participation
- When: generally every other Tuesday evening during the school year. The district publishes the year’s calendar on its Meeting dates page.
- Public comment, and the exact procedure: email the School Committee by 3 pm on the day of the meeting saying you want to speak. The committee sends the list to HUD-TV by 5 pm, HUD-TV sends you a meeting invitation, and when the Chair recognizes you your microphone is unmuted and you have two minutes. Sessions run in person and remotely, so you can do this from a kitchen table.
- Watch: meetings are broadcast live by HUD-TV on Comcast channel 8 and Verizon channel 47, and livestreamed online.
- Agendas: posted to the town’s Agenda Center, and you can sign up for email or text alerts when one is posted or changed.
