Granville School Committee & Superintendent
The Superintendent
Jennifer Willard
About 1,250 students start their day in this district, and one person answers for all of it. Jennifer Willard is the Superintendent of the Southwick-Tolland-Granville Regional School District, proposing the school budget, setting academic priorities, and running the schools day to day. The Superintendent is hired by and reports to the elected School Committee, which carries out an annual evaluation. Because the district is regional, that committee answers to three towns at once, and Granville is the smallest of them: of the committee’s seven seats, five belong to Southwick, one to Granville, and one to Tolland. That single Granville seat is the whole reason a small town works to keep it filled.

The School Committee
The Southwick-Tolland-Granville Regional School Committee has seven members serving staggered three-year terms, five elected by Southwick, one by Granville, and one by Tolland. The committee sets district policy, approves the school budget, and hires and evaluates the Superintendent who runs the schools day to day. Granville’s seat is held by Pamela Petschke, who serves as the committee’s Vice Chair, so a town of about 1,538 people has a direct hand in a district budget shared across three towns. The meetings are public, which means a Granville student who shows up can speak.
