Some of what a town does for its neighbors is not done by the town. Food, elder services, arts money and local news in Charlton run through organisations that take volunteers, and a few of them are one phone call away.

Charlton Food Pantry (CHIP-IN) The town’s food pantry, and one of the resources the Charlton Council on Aging points residents toward. 508-248-3292.
Tri-Valley Elder Services The regional elder services agency. It supplies the hot lunch served at the Charlton Senior Center Monday through Thursday, and carries resources for caregivers. 1-800-286-6640.
Charlton Villager Charlton’s weekly community newspaper, a Stonebridge Press title alongside the Southbridge News, the Spencer New Leader, the Sturbridge Villager and the Webster Times.
Charlton Cultural Council The town’s local arm of the Massachusetts Cultural Council. It gives out grant money for cultural and artistic programming in Charlton, and it is one of the funders of the Senior Center’s programs.
Charlton Earth Day Committee A town committee that plans Charlton’s Earth Day each spring, with an informal planning group beside it. Its 2026 roadside cleanup drew about two hundred residents and collected 2.12 tons.

Veterans’ Services Connects Charlton veterans and their families with state and federal benefits. Agent Keith Roberts holds office hours Tuesday afternoons and by appointment. 508-248-2244.
