Berlin Select Board
About the Board
The Select Board is elected town-wide, so every Berlin voter helps choose all three, and each serves a three-year term on a staggered schedule that puts a seat on the ballot every spring. The board sets town policy, signs the warrants that decide what Town Meeting gets to vote on, appoints residents to many town boards, and hires and supervises the Town Administrator who runs the town day to day. When a daily problem becomes town policy, this is the room where it happens.
- Sets policy and direction for the whole town.
- Hires the Town Administrator and holds the administrator accountable.
- Issues the warrant, and must insert any subject ten or more registered voters request in writing.
Board Members
All three members are elected town-wide. The board chooses its own officers. The Town Clerk’s certified returns put Margaret “Peg” Stone in a seat running to 2027, elected May 13, 2024; Lisa J. Wysocki in one running to 2028, elected May 12, 2025; and Carolyn MacDonald in one running to 2029, elected May 11, 2026. Wysocki serves as Chair, MacDonald as Vice Chair and Stone as Clerk. The staggered years are how a three-member board keeps continuity while still facing the voters every spring.

Meetings & How to Participate
- When: on the published calendar at the Town Office Building, 23 Linden Street. The town posts each agenda in advance.
- Agendas & minutes: posted in advance on the town website at townofberlin.com.
- Public comment: residents may address the board. Check the agenda for the procedure.
- Town Meeting: for the budget and bylaws, the deciding vote belongs to the registered voters in the hall, which can include you.
Public hearings and meetings are where residents shape town decisions.
