Who Represents Alford
The whole town sits in a single state representative district, a single state senate district, and a single congressional district, so there is no district line to check before you write. One representative, one senator, and one member of Congress speak for every Alford address, and the Commonwealth’s two U.S. senators represent the entire state, Alford included. Five names, and between them they cover everything from a town road grant to a federal tax bill.
State Senator
Berkshire, Hampden, Franklin and Hampshire District · Democrat
Paul Mark
State House: Room 504 · (617) 722-1625
Email: paul.mark@masenate.gov
The Berkshire, Hampden, Franklin and Hampshire district reaches across four counties of western Massachusetts hill towns, and all of Alford sits inside it. A state senator votes the state budget, files bills, and can press a state agency on a resident’s behalf.
State Representative
3rd Berkshire District · Democrat
Leigh Davis
State House: Room 134 · (617) 722-2400
Email: leigh.davis@mahouse.gov
A state representative files bills, votes the state budget, and can chase a state agency on a constituent’s behalf, which is often the fastest use of the office. The 3rd Berkshire district gathers towns across the southern and central Berkshires, Alford among them, and Representative Davis’s office takes calls from Alford residents.
In Washington
All of Alford sits in the 1st Congressional District, which covers most of western Massachusetts, from the Berkshires through Springfield. Massachusetts is represented in the U.S. Senate by Elizabeth Warren, the senior senator, and Edward J. Markey, the junior senator, both Democrats.
1st Congressional District · Democrat
Richard E. Neal
Washington: 372 Cannon House Office Building · 202-225-5601
