Wendell Select Board
About the Board
The Select Board is elected town-wide, so every Wendell voter helps choose it, and each member serves a three-year term on a staggered schedule that puts a seat on the ballot most springs. The board sets town policy, signs the warrants that decide what Town Meeting gets to vote on, appoints residents to town boards, and serves as the town’s chief executive, running the town’s business itself rather than through an appointed administrator. When a daily problem becomes town policy, this is the room where it happens.
- Sets policy and direction for the whole town, and serves as its licensing authority.
- Runs the town between meetings, supported by the board’s own office at the Town Offices, staffed by the Town Coordinator.
- Controls the warrant, deciding what business reaches Town Meeting for a vote.
Board Members
The board has three seats, elected town-wide to staggered three-year terms. Two are filled today: Laurie DiDonato chairs the board and Paul Doud holds the second seat, as the town’s own selectboard page lists them. The third seat is open, and a Special Election on September 1, 2026 is filling it, so if serving as one of the three people who run Wendell appeals to you, this is the rare year the door is standing open.

Meetings & How to Participate
- When: 7 pm on Wednesday every two weeks at the Town Offices, 9 Morse Village Road. The town posts each agenda in advance.
- Agendas & minutes: posted on the town website at wendellmass.us, with a videoconference link on the notice at least 48 hours ahead.
- Public comment: residents may address the board, and meetings are open to the public.
- Town Meeting: for the budget and bylaws, the deciding vote belongs to the registered voters in the hall, which can include you.
Public hearings and meetings are where residents shape town decisions.
