Who Represents Wareham
Five people hold seats that speak for Wareham, and the whole town has the same five. One state representative, one state senator, one member of Congress, and the Commonwealth’s two United States senators. Between them they cover everything from a state grant for a town road to a federal fisheries rule in Buzzards Bay. Nothing here depends on which end of town you live in.
State Senator
Third Bristol and Plymouth District · Republican
Kelly A. Dooner
State House: Room 213-B · (617) 722-1551
Email: kelly.dooner@masenate.gov
The Third Bristol and Plymouth district reaches from the Rhode Island line at Seekonk across to Buzzards Bay, so one senator carries the water, housing, transport and school funding questions of ten different communities. All of Wareham sits inside it, so the same senator covers every address in town. Dooner has served since 2025 and sits on the Senate Committee on Ways and Means, the committee that writes the Senate’s version of the state budget.
State Representative
Wareham sits whole inside one House district, the 2nd Plymouth, which it shares with Carver and part of Middleborough. Every Wareham address has the same representative.
2nd Plymouth District · Republican
John R. Gaskey
State House: Room 33 · (617) 722-2060
Email: john.gaskey@mahouse.gov
A state representative files bills, votes the state budget, and can chase a state agency on a constituent’s behalf, which is often the fastest use of the office. Gaskey has served since 2025 and is the ranking minority member of the House Committee on Climate Action and Sustainability, which for a town with 10.5 square miles of water inside its borders is a committee worth knowing about.
In Washington
All of Wareham sits in the 9th Congressional District, one of the largest in the state, running from New Bedford out across Cape Cod and the Islands and up the South Shore. Massachusetts is represented in the U.S. Senate by Elizabeth Warren, the senior senator, and Edward J. Markey, the junior senator, both Democrats.
9th Congressional District · Democrat
William R. Keating
Washington: 2372 Rayburn House Office Building · 202-225-3111
