Walpole Select Board
About the Board
The Select Board is elected town-wide, so every Walpole voter helps choose all five. The charter gives each member a three-year term on a staggered schedule, with no more than two seats on the ballot in any year, so the board never turns over all at once. The board holds the town’s executive authority: it sets policy, signs the warrants that decide what Town Meeting gets to vote on, appoints residents to many town boards, and appoints the four offices the charter names, the Town Administrator, the Town Clerk, and the police and fire chiefs. When a daily problem becomes town policy, this is the room where it happens.

- Hires the Town Administrator and holds the Administrator accountable.
- Controls the warrant, deciding what business reaches Town Meeting for a vote.
Board Members
All five members are elected town-wide. Each spring, after the town election, the board reorganizes and chooses its own officers. The current officers were elected at the reorganization on May 20, 2026, the evening after the town election, and each vote carried 5-0-0.

Meetings & How to Participate
- When: at Town Hall, 135 School Street, on the schedule the board publishes on the town website.
- Agendas & minutes: posted on the town website at walpole-ma.gov, under Minutes & Agendas.
- Public comment: residents may address the board. Check the posted agenda for the procedure.
- Town Meeting: for the budget and bylaws, the deciding vote belongs to the Town Meeting Representatives elected from your precinct.
Public hearings and meetings are where residents shape town decisions.
