Who Pays For It
A regional district is funded by assessments on its member towns, which means the school budget has to clear two separate Town Meetings before it is real. That is why Raynham’s 2026 Annual Town Meeting warrant carried a school article of its own, Article 6, asking the town to raise and appropriate $625,564 as a gift to the district under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 71, Section 37A, to add classroom teachers and reduce class sizes in Raynham’s own kindergarten through eighth grade buildings. The article named the positions it was buying: one kindergarten teacher, one fourth grade, two fifth grade, one sixth grade, one seventh grade, and one or more undesignated so the staffing could follow enrollment. If you want to see school money decided in a room you can walk into, that is the room.
