A Portrait of Lexington
Lexington is one of the wealthiest and most highly educated towns in Massachusetts, and one of the most Asian-American: about a third of residents trace their roots to Asia, and two in five speak a language other than English at home. The town draws families who chase its schools, which shows in the numbers: more than a quarter of residents are under 18, even as roughly one in five is 65 or older. Home prices tell the other half of the story, with a median value well past a million dollars. Figures below come from the U.S. Census Bureau and the Secretary of the Commonwealth.
