The money behind those figures is voted locally. On May 19, 2026 Grafton voters approved an additional $5,000,000 in property taxes for the school and municipal operating budget, and separately approved borrowing for a new roof at the Grafton Middle School. Both questions were on the same ballot as the School Committee seat.
