Who Represents Gill

Gill sits whole inside a single state representative district, so unlike many towns, every address in Gill has the same representative on Beacon Hill. One state senator, one representative, and one member of Congress cover the whole town, and the Commonwealth’s two U.S. senators represent the entire state, Gill included. Five names on this page, and between them they cover everything from a town road grant to a federal farm rule.

State Senator

The Hampshire, Franklin and Worcester district gathers Gill together with much of rural western Massachusetts, so one senator carries the road, broadband, housing and school funding questions of a wide stretch of small towns. All of Gill sits inside it, which means there is no district line to check before you write.

State Representative

All of Gill sits in the 2nd Franklin House district, so one representative speaks for the whole town.

A state representative files bills, votes the state budget, and can chase a state agency on a constituent’s behalf, which is often the fastest use of the office. This office takes calls from Gill residents.

In Washington

All of Gill sits in the 2nd Congressional District, which reaches across central Massachusetts from Worcester west into the Pioneer Valley of the Connecticut River. Massachusetts is represented in the U.S. Senate by Elizabeth Warren, the senior senator, and Edward J. Markey, the junior senator, both Democrats.
