Who Represents Georgetown
All of Georgetown sits in a single state representative district and a single state senate district, so unlike some of its neighbors the town has one representative and one senator who speak for every address in it. One member of Congress covers the whole town, and the Commonwealth’s two U.S. senators represent the entire state, Georgetown included. Between them these five offices cover everything from a local road bylaw to a federal budget.
State Senator
First Essex and Middlesex District · Republican

Email: bruce.tarr@masenate.gov
The First Essex and Middlesex district reaches across the northeastern corner of the state, and all of Georgetown sits inside it, so there is no district line to check before you write. A state senator votes the state budget, files bills, and can press a state agency on a resident’s behalf.
State Representative

The 2nd Essex district takes in the whole of Georgetown along with several nearby towns. A state representative files bills, votes the state budget, and can chase a state agency on a constituent’s behalf, which is often the fastest use of the office.
In Washington
All of Georgetown sits in the Sixth Congressional District, which covers much of the North Shore. Massachusetts is represented in the U.S. Senate by Elizabeth Warren, the senior senator, and Edward J. Markey, the junior senator, both Democrats.
