Who Represents East Brookfield

The whole town sits in a single state representative district, a single state senate district, and a single congressional district, so there is no district line to check before you write. One representative, one senator, and one member of Congress answer for every street in East Brookfield, and the Commonwealth’s two U.S. senators represent the entire state, this town included. Five names on this page, and between them they cover everything from a local road grant to a federal tax bill.

State Senator

The Worcester and Hampshire district reaches across rural central Massachusetts, from the Brookfields east and north through Worcester County and into Ware in Hampshire County. Senator Durant serves as Assistant Minority Leader in the Senate, and all of East Brookfield sits inside his district.

State Representative

The 5th Worcester district covers East Brookfield whole, together with Spencer next door and a cluster of neighboring central Massachusetts towns. A state representative files bills, votes the state budget, and can chase a state agency on a constituent’s behalf, which is often the fastest use of the office.

In Washington

All of East Brookfield sits in the 1st Congressional District, which stretches across western and central Massachusetts. Massachusetts is represented in the U.S. Senate by Elizabeth Warren, the senior senator, and Edward J. Markey, the junior senator, both Democrats.
