Finding the Right Department
Most of what residents need from the town runs through a department, not an elected official: paying a bill, pulling a permit, reporting a problem, registering to vote. Colrain is a small town, so most of these offices share the Town Offices at 55 Main Road and one main number, and several jobs are handled through the region: public health is delivered through the Franklin Regional Council of Governments Cooperative Public Health Service, the town accounting is contracted to an outside firm, and the police non-emergency line reaches Shelburne Dispatch.
