Community Organizations

Bourne is served by a network of non-profits and town programs covering food, elder services, youth sailing, the town library and the town’s own history. These are organizations whose websites were checked one by one, and every one of them takes volunteers.

Bourne Historical Society	In its own words, a bridge from the past to the future, committed to preserve, protect, present and promote the history of Bourne. It runs the Jonathan Bourne Historical Center at 30 Keene Street and the Museums at Aptucxet.
Friends of Bourne Council on Aging	Fundraising, community events, and the Bourne Friends Food Pantry, run alongside the town’s Council on Aging.
Jonathan Bourne Public Library	The town library at 19 Sandwich Road in Buzzards Bay. Books, programs, computers, the Library of Things, and a card that works at libraries across Massachusetts.
Bourne Community Boating	A youth sailing program on the town’s own water.
Bourne Education Foundation	Raises money for Bourne Public Schools and is listed by the district among its family resources.
Massachusetts Maritime Academy	A Massachusetts public college on the Buzzards Bay shore of the canal, inside the town.
