Attleboro Public Schools
School Committee & Superintendent
The Superintendent
David Sawyer
David Sawyer has led the Attleboro Public Schools as superintendent since 2016, capping a career spent almost entirely in the district. He began as a social studies teacher, later serving as the subject’s department head, as an assistant principal at Attleboro High School, and as assistant superintendent before being named to the top job. A graduate of the College of the Holy Cross with a master’s in education from Clark University, he has been an Attleboro resident for more than two decades. Under his leadership the district adopted its “Portrait of a Graduate” framework and, in 2022, opened a new $260 million Attleboro High School building.
