The Superintendent
Mark Bodwell
About 1,360 students start their day in this district, and one person answers for all of it. Mark Bodwell is the Superintendent of the West Bridgewater Public Schools, proposing the school budget, setting academic priorities, and running the town’s four schools day to day. West Bridgewater runs its own single-town school district, so the Superintendent reports to a School Committee that answers to one town: the voters of West Bridgewater. The committee hires the Superintendent, evaluates the Superintendent each year, and can decide not to renew the contract.

The School Committee
The West Bridgewater School Committee has five members, elected town-wide to staggered three-year terms. The committee sets district policy, approves the school budget, and hires and evaluates the Superintendent who runs the schools day to day. It meets at the West Bridgewater Middle/Senior High School, and the meetings are public, which means a West Bridgewater student who shows up can speak.
