Community Organizations

Wenham is served by a compact network of community organizations, from a museum built around a 17th-century house to a college campus, a wildlife sanctuary, and the community media outlet that films the town’s own meetings. Most of them take volunteers.

Wenham Museum	A museum at 132 Main Street built around the 17th-century Claflin-Richards House that, in its own words, celebrates childhood, interprets history, and explores culture for the North Shore.
Hamilton-Wenham Community Access Media	The two towns’ community media outlet, HWCAM, which films and streams Select Board, School Committee, and Town Meeting proceedings so residents can watch on cable or online.
Gordon College	A private four-year Christian college on a wooded campus in Wenham, and one of the town’s largest institutions.
Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary	Mass Audubon’s largest wildlife sanctuary, whose southernmost trails reach into western Wenham.
Wenham Village Improvement Society	A long-running volunteer society that, by tradition, serves lunch to voters on the Saturday of Town Meeting and has helped preserve the town’s historic buildings.
The Salem News	The North Shore daily newspaper that covers Wenham town government and elections.
