Hull Legislators
Who Represents Hull
Five people speak for Hull above the town line, and there is no district boundary inside the town to check first. One state representative and one state senator carry the whole town in the Massachusetts Legislature, one member of Congress carries it in the U.S. House, and the Commonwealth’s two U.S. senators represent the entire state, Hull included. Between them they cover everything from a state road repair to a federal grant for your school.
State Senator
First Plymouth and Norfolk District · Republican
Patrick M. O’Connor
State House: Room 419 · (617) 722-1646
Email: patrick.oconnor@masenate.gov
A state senator votes the state budget, files bills, and sits on the joint committees where most bills live or die. O’Connor serves as Assistant Minority Leader of the Senate, a leadership post in the Republican caucus, and his committee list includes the Joint Committee on Education and the Joint Committee on Transportation, two rooms where a school or seawall question from Hull would land. All of Hull sits inside the First Plymouth and Norfolk district, which means there is no district line to check before you write.
State Representative
Hull is not split. The entire town sits in the 3rd Plymouth House district, so one representative answers for every street in it.

Joan Meschino
State House: Room 162 · (617) 722-2092
Email: joan.meschino@mahouse.gov
A state representative files bills, votes the state budget, and can chase a state agency on a constituent’s behalf, which is often the fastest use of the office. Meschino, an attorney who represents the South Shore communities of Hull, Hingham and Cohasset, authored measures folded into the 2024 Affordable Homes Act, and the home-rule petition Hull’s Town Meeting passed about its own light plant goes to the Legislature through her office. She also sits on the Joint Committee on Election Laws, the committee that oversees how you will register and vote.
In Washington
All of Hull sits in the Eighth Congressional District, one of nine in Massachusetts. Its representative, Stephen F. Lynch, spent 18 years as a structural ironworker and became the youngest ever president of Iron Workers Local 7 before winning a seat in Congress, where he has served since 2001. Massachusetts is represented in the U.S. Senate by Elizabeth Warren, the senior senator, and Edward J. Markey, the junior senator, both Democrats, and both of them represent you as much as any Hull voter.
