Who Represents Holbrook

Holbrook is split between two state representative districts, so the representative who speaks for your street depends on where in town you live. The 5th Norfolk district, which Holbrook shares with Braintree, is held by Mark J. Cusack. The 3rd Norfolk district, which the town shares with Quincy and Weymouth, is held by Ronald Mariano, the Speaker of the Massachusetts House. One state senator and one member of Congress cover the whole town, and the Commonwealth’s two U.S. senators represent the entire state, Holbrook included. If you are not sure which House district you live in, the lookup at the bottom of this page settles it in about ten seconds.

State Senator

One state senator covers all of Holbrook, so there is no precinct line to check before you write to him. A senator votes on the state budget, state law, and confirmations, and a call to the district office is often the fastest way to get a state problem in front of someone who can act on it.

State Representatives

Because Holbrook is divided between two House districts, the town sends two voices to the Massachusetts House. Check which precinct you live in to know which representative is yours.

A state representative files bills, votes the state budget, and can chase a state agency on a constituent’s behalf, which is often the fastest use of the office. Holbrook is unusual in counting the Speaker of the House among its own representatives, which gives part of the town a direct line to the chamber’s most powerful seat.

In Washington

All of Holbrook sits in the 8th Congressional District, represented by Stephen F. Lynch, a Democrat, whose district runs from part of Boston south through Quincy and a ring of Norfolk and Plymouth county towns. Massachusetts is represented in the U.S. Senate by Elizabeth Warren, the senior senator, and Edward J. Markey, the junior senator, both Democrats.
