Academic Performance & Context
Cohasset’s four-year graduation rate was 95.2%. MCAS results, graduation rates, and accountability data are published and updated each year by DESE. Because these change annually, this guide links to the live state profile rather than reprinting numbers that quickly go stale.
One number here is a civics fact rather than an education one. Per-pupil spending is not set in this building or by the Superintendent. It is voted at Town Meeting, in the same room, on the same night, by the same registered voters who vote everything else. The Superintendent proposes the school budget and the School Committee approves it, but the money is real only after Town Meeting says so. And when the town wants to borrow for a big project, the borrowing can be sent to the ballot too: in May 2026 Cohasset voters were asked to exclude the debt on the 135 King Street public safety building from Proposition 2 1/2, and they voted it down, 900 to 715.
